EUGENE – Oregon has suspended cornerback Cliff Harris pending further review of a Monday incident in which he was cited by Eugene police for driving while not wearing a seatbelt, with a suspended license and while uninsured.

The suspension will include a complete prohibition from all football activities until the matter is resolved, according to a release from the Oregon football program.

Oregon coach Chip Kelly was not available for further comment.

Eugene police director of public information Melinda Kletzok said a motorcycle officer pulled Harris over at 2:06 p.m. after he made a left turn in the convertible Mustang he was driving from Hilyard Street to travel west on East Broadway because the officer noticed the All-American cornerback was not wearing a seatbelt.

During the traffic stop, the officer learned that Harris was driving with a suspended and without insurance. The car, which Kletzok said belongs to a family member, was impounded.

The base fine for driving without a seat belt is $115. Operating a vehicle with a suspended license carries a base fine of $575. The base fine for driving as an uninsured motorist is $262.

BCS top 10: An early look at week 10

#1 LSU and #2 Alabama.  The top 2 teams have byes as they wait for their epic showdown in Tuscaloosa. We won't see any movement at the top with LSU and Alabama staying put at no.1 and 2.

#3 Oklahoma State has a look ahead sneaker game against a dangerous Baylor team.  Baylor is coming of a shellacking by Texas A&M and with OK State being at home this one looks like a no brainer! But if last week showed us anything, it is that nothing is impossible.  If the Cowboys can establish the run game it could be a long day for the Baylor secondary as i see Brandon Weeden picking the Bears apart.
Prediction OSU-45 Baylor 20

#4 Boise State is going to beat UNLV, but may be passed by Clemson or Stanford in the Polls. Prediction BSU - 52 UNLV -7

#5 Clemson has impressed me beyond what I thought they could do for such a young team.  Their test this week will be the hardest sans the South Carolina and ACC Championship games, when they face a just beaten Georgia Tech team (6-2).  I see them beating GT handily and jumping over Boise for the fourth spot in the BCS.
Prediction Clemson - 30 GT - 17

#6 Stanford will face it's toughest test of the season when they travel to USC to face the Trojans in L.A.  If you remember the game from last year it was close all the way! I expect the same type of game this year with Stanford pulling away late as they wear down USC with their powerful running game.
Prediction Stanford - 38 USC - 27

#7 Oregon plays host to Washington State in which the Ducks are favored by 37 points in Vegas.  Oregon's biggest concern as to getting back into the national title picture are the computer rankings with have the Ducks 12th.  Oregon wins big this week at Autzen!
Prediction Oregon - 56 WSU - 21

#8 Kansas State plays host to #9 Oklahoma in the "little apple".  KSU will be looking to prove they belong, while Oklahoma tries to keep their title hopes alive with a road win.  I am not sure if Kansas State ready for the bright lights of this game just yet! I see OU winning with defense and Jones to Broyles all night long.
Prediction Oklahoma - 45 KSU - 24

#10 Arkansas has another game against a second straight SEC bottom feeder in Vanderbilt.  This should be a walk in the park for the Razorbacks. We will see if they handle this week better than the scare they had last week. Prediction Arkansas - 38 Vandy - 10

Will Boise State ever play for a National Championship?

Boise State seems to be the bridesmaid of the college football world, never a bride!

First, let me say I respect what Boise State has done. But in my humble opinion Boise State will never be in a position to play for it all, unless they join a conference with clout.

If you look at the way the BCS is stacking up this year, even if Boise State was to go undefeated they would still most likely be jumped by a one loss team from either the SEC, Big 12 or possible even the PAC-10 if Oregon was to win out.

Unfortunately for Boise their strength of schedule kills them every year.  As of today the BCS computers have Boise State ranked 5th which is good.  The problem is they have played the best part of their schedule sans TCU.  Meanwhile teams like Stanford have yet to play them meat of their conference schedules.

Sadly until Boise State joins an elite conference they will not be respected at the level they should be.

oregon ducks football tv schedule

Here is the 2011 Oregon Ducks football TV schedule. Some of the dates are TBA as the game might be picked up for a national TV broadcast by ABC or ESPN.

Date          Opponent                    TV                                  Time
10/29        Washington State         FSN/ROOT SPORTS     3:00 pm EST
11/5          @Washington              TBA                                TBA
11/12        @Stanford                   TBA                                TBA
11/19        USC                            ABC                                5:00 pm EST
11/26        Oregon State               TBA                                 TBA

My guess here is the Washington versus Oregon game will be picked for a noon broadcast on ABC as a regional game or possibly as the Saturday night football game of the week @ 5:00 pm PST.  The Stanford versus Oregon game will be the Prime time game of the week on ABC if both teams are undefeated. This would again be a 5:00 pm PST start time.
As for the OSU versus Oregon game on 11/26, i think we will see this picked up by either FSN/ROOT or ESPN2. I think you have to put the Civil War on TV, after all it is the Civil War
